Excerpts From The Book
Excerpt from Preface:
One cold, early November morning in 2003, as I was sleeping so comfortably with my covers around me, I heard a voice. It was not an audible voice, but a voice so strong that I will remember it for the rest of my life. I heard the voice say, “Blessed are those who will minister for Him and serve just One.”
I immediately sat up in my bed. Somewhat shaken, I asked, “What?” No one was in the bedroom except me, but I heard the voice repeat the same words. I again asked, “What?”
Then the voice said, “Write it down.” I knew it was God, but that knowledge didn’t diminish my nervousness. So I wrote the words down on some paper beside my bed. Then as more and more words continued to come, I wrote them down. That was the beginning of several writings, which led to The Edge of His Garment.
Two writings from the book:
An Obedient Child
What is an obedient child of God?
A child who listens to the Word of God.
A child who knows what to do and when to do it.
A child who follows what is commanded of him.
A child who shares her laughter with the souls of others.
A child who stands before God and asks for blessings to
come his way and to the way of others.
A child who stands before God without sin.
A child who asks God to forgive others for their split tongues.
A child who does not throw stones at others.
A child who sees the good in all people.
A child who holds the hand of man through the good
and bad storms.
A child who brings in the sheaves of wheat to feed on the
Word of God from the earth in which God sowed them.
A child who thirsts for the water that God gives to all.
A child who thinks of others first.
A child who touches the sick and the hand of death among them.
A child who sees the ways of God and lets the angels lead
her along the ways.
A child who is still in mind, but loving in his heart toward others.
A child who hears the cries of the people and speaks to God for
their tears.
A child who puts aside her fear…for an obedient child knows no
fear of the Lord…for she is pure at heart.
Who is an obedient child of God?
You are My one…you are.

The Potter’s Hand
You are shaped by the Potter,
molded into My image for Me to love you,
shaped into My likeness, for My glory and praise.
Formed but from dust into a molding so special,
each with the love of your Lord.
Each molding has different specks of life given to it.
Each speck a talent of My giving.
Each speck designed to do My works as I intended.
Why do you think I gave you these special specks?
It is of My doing, given unto you for Me.
The Potter knows your mind and every molding
of your being.
I have loved you along every forming
of your spiritual life.
In your making, I have filled you with My love
and peace.
I have molded you to accept My Word;
take it and know of My moldings.
Unless you take of My Word to know My ways,
you will not be able to please Me, your Potter.
For you were formed of the Potter’s hand,
a useful vessel in My making.
So fragile in the making, but unique in design.
Designed by Me for a special use.
You are a vessel for Me.
I will use you for others to come to Me;
that is the gift of your Potter’s hand.
Know that you were created for My use.
I have selected you by My choice.
I will use you so others may see the works of My hands.
Just as does a Potter with clay,
I molded you into a character of Christ for Me,
for My using.
I have created you over and over,
molding and remolding until you have become
a unique piece to My eye.
Vessels are created in many ways and forms;
some will give glory; others will show the glory
of their Lord.
Vessels, moldings of clay, specks of dust,
all My doing and choosing,
all for a purpose in My life.
Remolded from dust, remolded in character,
selected by the Potter, renewed in your soul.
Designed for My liking, created by My hands,
that is you from the Potter’s mold.
Know of your design and please the Potter’s eye.
For as a Potter can choose to break a vessel
and not mend it,
so too can I choose to do with you.
From dust you were formed;
to dust you shall return.
Please your Potter well.
